Privacy and diagnostics

What stays on your Mac and how to review a diagnostic report.

The Evenpine website uses Google Analytics for page-view counts; see the privacy page. Branchway itself does not collect telemetry about your file browsing.

Crash reports are your choice

Automatic crash reports are off by default. The setting lives in Settings › Privacy. When automatic reporting is off, the app asks after a crash and shows the report for review.

Help › Save Diagnostics… writes a ZIP file on your Mac. Help › Send Feedback… includes an “Include diagnostics” option. You can review what is included before sending or saving it.

What a report contains

A diagnostic ZIP can include app and macOS versions, the app’s own recent log, and Branchway crash or hang reports. A feedback message is included as you typed it. If you turn diagnostics off for feedback, the ZIP contains the message and a small manifest.

The scrubber removes user paths, email addresses and machine or incident identifiers from collected diagnostics. Review your own message for information you do not want to share; your message is not rewritten.

You choose what is sent

Nothing is sent unless you send a report yourself or turn on automatic crash reports. If sending does not work, or you would rather not send from the app, save the report with Help › Save Diagnostics… and attach it to an email.

License activation uses a separate service and sends the key, email and a hashed machine identifier. The original hardware UUID does not leave the Mac.
