Keyboard shortcuts
The essential shortcuts, and where to find the full list.
Branchway keeps common actions close to the keyboard. The app’s Help › Keyboard Shortcuts sheet lists the full set of commands and their assigned keys.
The essentials
- ⌘T opens a new tab.
- ⌘1–⌘4 switch between list, icon, column and gallery views.
- ⌘K opens the command palette to find files, folders and commands.
- ⌥⌘F toggles folders above files.
- ⌥⌘2 turns dual pane on or off.
Use the shortcuts sheet for the complete list rather than relying on a remembered combination. Menu items also show the keys assigned to their commands.
Find a command
If you cannot remember a shortcut, open the command palette with ⌘K and type what you want to do. File results come from Branchway’s own index, with Spotlight merged in when it is on; commands appear alongside them. Select the command or result you need.
The four views share selection and shortcuts. You can change how a folder is displayed without starting your selection again.
